SIOBC -- FEBRUARY 2008

International Game Fish Association | Game Fish Union of Africa | The International Oceanographic Foundation
South African Marlin & Tuna Club | Central Africa Deep Sea Angling Society

Sanctuary of deep sea fishing in Mauritius and the Indian Ocean

For over 40 years, the Club has been the venue for fantastic big game fishing activities with unforgettable and emotional fights against giant Blue Marlin and other game fish, leading to victory or deception, but always, with the prevailing feeling of great respect for the fish and nature.
Several international tournaments have taken place at Le Morne and are still being held like the Marlin World Cup organized by La Pirogue Hotel. Le Morne Angler's Club was founded in 1955 by the mauritians anglers Allan Cambler, Maurice Jauffret, Jacques de Robillard and Rene Rey, joined by Maurice Henry, the pioneers of big game fishing in Mauritius. The Club with almost four hundred Members now is entering the third millennium with a rich history and a brillant future. Famous fishermen from all over the world have visited us and many more are still fishing our deep waters.

This edition is a special one. Firstly, we are opening it to all Angling Clubs of the World and secondly we will be fishing in March which is a very good month for big game fishing in Mauritius. Black Marlin come closer to the reef and it is specially the time for giant Blue Marlin.
