Types of Mauritian visas

Tourist Visa

A Tourist Visa permits non-citizens to enjoy a short vacation in Mauritius. Depending on Immigration requirements, a maximum stay of up to six months may be granted in a calendar year on a case-by-case basis.

Business Visa

The Business Visa is designed for non-citizens seeking to travel to Mauritius for business or investment purposes.

Businesspersons can stay for a maximum of 120 days in a calendar year, with individual trips not exceeding 90 days.

Visitors under this visa category should not receive remuneration in Mauritius.

Social Visa

A Social Visa is granted to non-citizens sponsored by socio-cultural organisations. This visa allows a maximum stay of 45 days and is for the purpose of engaging in social and religious activities.

Those traveling to Mauritius for religious purposes must apply for and obtain a social visa before their journey.

Multiple Entry Visa

A Multiple Entry Visa is granted only to foreign businesspersons with business interests in Mauritius who require a visa before traveling.

For the purpose of business facilitation, genuine business individuals may receive a multiple-entry visa for a maximum of 120 days within a calendar year, with each trip not exceeding 90 days.

Transit Visa

The Transit Visa is for passengers transiting to another country within 24-hours.

Medical Visa

The Medical Visa is intended for foreign nationals seeking medical treatment at private healthcare institutions that are registered with the Ministry of Health and Quality of Life under the Private Health Institutions Act.

Medical visas are granted upon arrival and are valid for the duration of the medical treatment, not exceeding 6 months.
